TESTESTEST

Alight Romance

The first thing I noticed was that it was cold out. And I mean really cold. Felt like 20 below zero, that's how cold it was. But I was only wearing shorts and a t shirt, so that might explain why I was shivering. I wasn't nervous, I'd done stuff like this a thousand times before. No biggie. But because I was shivering so much, it took me a second or two longer to strike a match.

Speaking of matches, they're the second thing. My matches weren't in the place they usually were. Left pocket, that's where I usually put them, but today they were in my right. Kind of panicked for awhile because after taking the time to pour all that gasoline on the house, I thought I wouldn't be able to burn it down. Took me a few seconds longer to get the fire going, which, looking back, was probably a good thing.

I'll get to the third thing later. So anyway, found my matches, lit one, and tossed it at the wall of the house. The fire spread kinda slowly, the house didn't go up in flames in like half a second. Probably because I didn't use enough gas. Lucky me, right? If it weren't for these tiny seconds that delayed what usually would've been a quick job... I'd probably still be burning down houses for hire. Or dead. Maybe the cops would've caught me, I don't know.

Anyway, the job took probably fifteen, twenty seconds longer than usual and just my luck, in those twenty seconds, a person in the house managed to escape. Crawled through a second story window and landed in a big old rosebush. I ran up to her and was a split second away from killing her right then and there.

But then I saw her face. Well, not really her face, just her... everything. God, she looked so... cute. Her hair in a mess, pajamas with a few ashes and burn marks on them. She sat on her rosebush throne, out of breath, scared and I knew... I knew.

QUJ

You and your best friend, Sam, are at your house on a calm summer Wednesday in suburban San Diego. You casually browse the Internet for interesting things to do locally, but have yet to find anything. Sam lies face up on your bed, casually tossing a ball up and down.

You hear the gentle ding of a phone chime. It's Sam's. Sam picks it up and checks the text that just arrived.

"Hey!" Sam exclaims, "There's a haunted school tour going on later tonight! Doesn't that sound awesome?"

"Eh... I don't know, haunted things are always filled with cheap scares and people with masks."

"Nah, but this one's different! It's a genuine haunted location, with murders and screams and a gigantic maze-like school from the 17th century!"

You seriously doubt that there's a school from the 17th century in San Diego. But Sam does look incredibly excited and there is nothing else to do today. So... you make your choice.

Bottom

Woo, sister's finally better, so finally woke up early to drop her off.

...And my brain feels like it's exploding. Running on four hours of sleep, but it's a necessary pain in my quest to fix my sleeping schedule.

Gonna go finish up the last episodes of Doctor Who, then it's off to scriptwriting. Aww yeah, almost caught up!

Same day, 3:40 PM PDT

Picked up my sister a few hours ago. Short day today, which meant that I had to leave house at noon to pick her up.

Noon.

During summer.

What I'm hinting at is that it was burning when I left house.

My house is ridiculously comfortable during summer because of insulation. It's freezing cold during winter in my house, but during summer, it's nice and temperate. Like a refrigerator.

So when I went outside, the wave of boiling air hit me. Hard. The school wasn't even half a mile from my house, but it felt like I trekked through six miles of Sahara to get there. It burned, and that's no exaggeration. When I left the house, I was probably as pale as an antisocial vampire. Now?

I look like I was left in the oven for too long. No joke, in the few minutes I left my home, not only did I manage to get tanner, but steam actually started coming out of my body due to the sheer temperature difference when I stepped back home.

Oh sun, you crazy, crazy devil.

Anyway, pretty lazy day so far. Apparently, I had a lot more episodes of Doctor Who left to watch than I thought, so I've a lot of work to do.

Same day, 6:14 PM PDT

My sister's open house/faire was today. My sister and I were on our way when she complained that her stomach hurts, so we decided not to go.

Poor Megan. She's really disappointed that she couldn't go. Damn you, disease, you cause nothing but trouble.

And it looked surprisingly awesome too. I took a look at the plans and they had a scavenger hunt and a cultural exhibition planned. There were also a bunch of food stands and ice cream trailers. Dang it, this could've been an interesting entry but now it's all boring because I didn't go.

I'm gonna find that disease. And I'm gonna kick the holy loving snot out of it. With toe kicks.

Same day, 9:25 PM PDT

Scriptwriting. It's turning out to be pretty flackin' good. Still not gonna go too in-depth with the plot, but hell, if you're reading this and you're interested in a role, write in my Tumblr ask box that you'd like to help along with the best way to contact you. Gonna be needing a person to play a secret agent, a bad guy, and a helluvalot of guards that get murdered by the agent. Roles may be expanded depending on the direction I want to take the script though, so I might have more parts if you check in the future!

RFotD: Panda bears have an extra “thumb” (which is actually an extra-large wrist bone) just for holding onto bamboo stalks.

SGAT: Wrote a bit more of my script.
